‘High-Risk’ Food and Feed of Non-Animal Origin – Official Certificate changes from 14th February 2020


Official certificate – format

Annex II of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/1793 lists products that must be accompanied by an Official Certificate (article 11) and by the results of sampling and analysis (article 10).

The format of the Official Certificate is laid down in Annex IV to the Regulation. All certificates issued for the products listed in Annex II from the 14th February 2020 onwards must be in the new format. Certificates which are issued in the incorrect format on or after 14th February 2020 will not be accepted.

Port Health – retention of original health certificates

From 14th February 2020 Suffolk Coastal Port Health will retain all original official certificates and test reports for a period of 3 years as required by Regulation (EU) 2017/625. If you require an authenticated copy of the certificate and test report please submit a true copy of these documents with the CED for us to stamp. We will not be able to issue authenticated copies at a later date as documents are stored off-site in a secure location.
