The products listed on this page (check both tables below) have all been identified by the European Commission as a risk (high risk food and feed on non-animal origin, HRFNAO). Additional import controls are required at the border.
All of these products are required to be accompanied by a CHED-D and often other documentation such as the results of sampling and analysis. Read more about the import controls here.
In many cases it is not just the raw material that is covered, some products containing more than 20% of the controlled product are also covered by import conditions.
Advice from the Food Standards Agency is that the controls apply on the products imported regardless of the CN code used for tariff purposes.
The risk to public health is dependent on the level of any contaminants present in the product, and this does not change with different CN codes.
