Sampling of Organic Produce no Longer Required 2 July 2026

DEFRA Organic Team made the following announcement on 2 July 2026:

We are writing to inform you that the GB Additional control measures applicable to specified CN chapter organic produce from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russian Federation, China and Turkey will end 5 July 2026.

We have notified Control Bodies operating in GB and third countries, and all consignments remain subject to the usual organic importing rules.

We are reviewing the rules for importing organic products and expect to introduce new rules for high-risk imports in 2027.

SCPHA advice:

All organic imports will now be subject to documentary checks only under the organic import legislation, unless there are issues identified at the documentary check.

This will apply to all organic consignments arriving from 5 July 2026 onwards.
