HMRC adds a further £10 million to boost customs expertise HMRC has announced that it will provide a further £10 million in grants for customs agents and intermediaries to build capacity in managing customs declarations.  The further £10 million in grants is open to businesses based in, or with a branch in, the UK, that currently complete customs declarations for importers and exporters Further details are available here
Government products to help businesses get ready for Brexit Attached is a list of Products available to help Traders and Hauliers prepare for a no deal Brexit. Please make your members and stakeholders aware of these products.
HMRC Helpline On Monday 16 September, HMRC launched the EU Exit Import and Export Trader Helpline for traders and hauliers importing from / exporting to the EU after October 31. The helpline number is 0300 3301 331. Lines will be open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday. Please make your members and stakeholders aware of this support line.
Nationwide government events launched to help businesses get ready for Brexit Local businesses across the UK will receive tailored advice and support on preparing for Brexit on 31 October, as part of a series of nationwide events led by government.  The free events will combine a keynote address from senior government officials, advice stands and in-depth sessions to give businesses the information they need to get ready for Brexit
  • New Brexit Business Readiness Events Roadshow gets underway as part of the ‘Get Ready for Brexit’ campaign
  • Advisors from all relevant government departments will be at each event to provide practical advice and support to local businesses
  • Over 30 events spanning the UK will run for five weeks

EU based business trading goods to or via the UK Following the UK’s exit from the EU, businesses must have the correct documents in place to enable goods to pass through controls at the UK and EU borders. Border Delivery Group has arranged a series of webinars for EU businesses to provide clarity on what will be required to trade goods across the border. Webinars include information on customs procedures at the border with relevant sector-specific content and a Q&A session.  Each webinar is for a duration of 90 minutes.
